A unique opportunity exists to work for an Indigenous policy & leadership reform organisation dedicated to empowering Cape York Indigenous People

We are looking to recruit a number of highly motivated and innovative individuals with exceptional leadership skills to live in our remote welfare reform communities in Cape York and contribute locally through hands on community or business development work.

Cape York Partnership pursues Indigenous empowerment. We are an Indigenous organisation that has stood up to lead a comprehensive reform agenda to turn this on its head. We want to ensure that Indigenous rights and responsibility exist in proper balance, and Indigenous people are truly enabled to be the masters of their own exciting destinies.

These roles assist in strengthening the capacity of our Indigenous partners to maximise their ability to achieve choice and control in their lives. A key component of the role will be to work closely with individuals and families to change behaviour, social norms and outcomes by encouraging a transition from passivity, dependence and dysfunction; to responsibility, self-reliance and functioning.

You will need to have experience in community development/case management or have business acumen, knowledge of Indigenous culture, have good computer skills, excellent communication skills, be enthusiastic and motivated, have strong work ethic, maintain confidentiality and have a professional approach. Experience working in remote communities is highly desirable. You must also have a current manual drivers licence and be eligible for or have a Blue Card and an Australian Federal Police Check.
