On Sunday 10th September, O-Hub and Cape York Employment (CYE) staff rose bright and early for the Aurukun Community River to Ramp Fun Run, organised by the Aurukun Shire Council.

The day saw approximately 60 runners and walkers make the beautiful (but warm) 7.2km journey from Ubun to the Landing.

With a Skytrans voucher, bikes and vouchers for businesses in the community up for grabs, it was great to see young and old get moving together.

First place went to the very speedy Jayden Marrot in only 31 minutes!

Finishing up with a BBQ, the day was a success for the O-Hub and CYE teams, with a few of our own taking home prizes, including:

Phil Jose (CYE)
Stacey Ketchell (CYE)
Cliffy Pootchemunka (O-Hub) and Joylene Kepple’s (CYE) young ones, Jennifer and Chaston
Chrissy Bowenda (O-Hub) and her niece Shorsha
Jacquie Koometa’s (O-Hub) daughter Althea (who won first place on her birthday.)
