For our final Term Event for 2018, our Cairns Secondary Academic Leaders visited the Cairns Museum and viewed the amazing Indigenous artwork showcased in the City Centre just outside the Museum. Students were impressed with the artwork by CYLP graduate Teho Ropeyarn of Injinoo.

Visiting the museum gave students a great interactive insight into the history of the place they are completing their schooling. Learning about the Indigenous and colonial history gave a great appreciation for the many things we take for granted in the present.

Over a delicious lunch, the students reflected upon how we need to understand our history in order to understand our present and how we can play a role in building our future.
