Essendon AFL footballer, Anthony “Walla” McDonald-Tipumgwuti made a surprise visit to Djarragun College today to share his story and inspire our students.

Born and raised on the Tiwi Islands, Anthony, has faced many challenges in his young life. But he has managed to realise his dreams through dogged determination and by garnering the support of his family and mentors.

Anthony and his mum joined students for Lunch in the Djarragun College Canteen before delivering a presentation in our Multi-Purpose Assembly Area. The visit concluded with many “selfies” being taken with staff and students alike.

His visit to Djarragun was organised by Good to Great Schools. Good to Great Schools Australia support schools in providing students with the opportunity to develop their academic, cultural, creative, sporting and civic potential.
