Fiona Jose appointed to Cairns and Hinterland Health Board

Cape York Partnership CEO Fiona Jose has been appointed a place on the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Board. Fiona is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leader dedicated to education, reform and empowering change for Indigenous Australia.

Joining as the second Indigenous member on the nine-person board, Fiona will be jointly responsible for the strategic direction, goal setting and community consultation of Cairns and Hinterland public sector health services. As a passionate advocate for the Indigenous community and an experienced leader, Fiona is a valuable addition to the team.

“I am so thrilled to welcome Fiona Jose to our Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Board,” Minister for Health and Ambulance Services and board member Yvette D'Ath said.

“Anyone who knows Ms Jose knows that her deep passion for both the Cairns and Hinterland community and the wider Indigenous community has been the driving force behind her career and will make her an immense asset to this board.”
