A Perfect Role Model

A Perfect Role Model

Jasmine Holroyd joined CYLP as an Academic Secondary Leader in 2012; in 2016, she successfully graduated from Year 12 at Rockhampton Girls Grammar School. Jasmine was appointed as a Senior School Prefect in 2016 and acted as a role model to other CYLP Academic Leaders, including those also attending Rockhampton Grammar.

Jasmine led a School Committee and was in charge of the School’s NAIDOC parade in 2016.

She was congratulated by the Principal for leading the organisation of the event, who noted that Jasmine “…really thought big here and though about how to celebrate on a scale that we haven’t seen before here at Girls Grammar…”

Jasmine also organised for Indigenous artist, Jeremy Marou (of Busby Marou) to speak and perform at her School.

Jasmine excelled in sports and travelled to Brisbane to attend the Queensland State Athletics Championships.

She has now applied to attend Melbourne University to study performing arts; if she does not receive an offer, she will likely pursue a career in the defence forces.

Jasmine has demonstrated wonderful leadership qualities throughout her time as an Academic Leader; we look forward to seeing her continue to grow these qualities as she pursues her career.
