Young Indigenous girls can find themselves stuck in a negative intergenerational cycle with no education, no work, unhealthy relationships, low health and low self-worth.

If you educate a girl, in mind, body and spirit, she can change her world. She will drive change and break the cycle of poverty for her family … that’s why we are very deliberately focussed on empowering girls – integrating health, education, culture and language, and leadership.

The Our Sisters program for empowerment integrates trauma-informed education, health, education, ancestral language, and leadership – working with individuals and groups of girls to strengthen emotional regulation, academic capacity as well their self-belief, so they can aspire to become whatever it is they dream during and beyond school.

Between Djarragun College, the Cape York Girl Academy and the Cape York Leaders Program we teach, mentor, and care for 210 Indigenous girls from the Cairns region, Cape York, the Torres Strait, western Queensland, and the Northern Territory.

When you buy an Our Sisters t-shirt you will help to connect a girl with the Our Sisters opportunities including leadership retreats, tailored ancestral language courses, and a women’s health and education program to keep girls in tune with their bodies.

Our girls are so worth it!
