Next week Students at Aurukun State School will be singing Ruby Hunter’s beautiful song Aurukun Moonlight translated into Wik-Mungkan by Nita Yunkaporta and Janet Koongotema.

This workshop is a Pama Language Centre Collaboration with the Wik-Mungkan Ancestral Language Action Team and Aurukun State School.

In 2018, with kind permission from Archie Roach, Singing Back our Languages will be facilitating translation of Ruby’s treasury of children’s songs from Butcher Paper, Texta, Blackboard and Chalk into the First Nation Languages of Cape York Peninsula.
