Dianne Hawgood joined the Empowered Communities team in early 2014 to support Empowered Communities leaders with the ongoing design work. She worked closely with Indigenous leaders to develop the Empowered Communities: Empowered Peoples Design Report, which was delivered to the Commonwealth, state and Northern Territory Governments in March 2015. Since then she has supported Empowered Communities regions with set up and implementation. She works closely with the group of Empowered Communities national leaders from across each region.
Her career background was in the Australian Public Service, primarily in industrial relations and employment, and later Indigenous Affairs.
