Overview
Djarragun College is one of Australia’s leading independent Indigenous colleges, located in Gordonvale just south of Cairns, and shares its campus with the Cape York Girl Academy
Djarragun provides a holistic, culturally rich learning environment for all students from Prep to Year 12, with separate boarding facilities for girls and boys available to secondary students.
For senior students, we also provide opportunities and pathways for those seeking entry into university and other tertiary education, as well as a large vocational education program for those pursuing a pathway from school to work.

The education of our children is the most important key to a prosperous future. Through education, we can radically improve the life prospects of Indigenous children for generations to come and develop the capability of each child to be the master of their own future.
An unwavering bi-cultural education helps develop strong, accomplished Indigenous men and women, who can walk confidently in two worlds and become role models for their families and communities.
What we are Doing
We educate the whole child – culturally, intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, physically and socially. We aim to develop a holistic knowledge of our student’s academic ability and physical health and wellbeing to be able to fully support each of them onto a successful pathway.
We work tirelessly to ensure that no student is left behind and no student held back. We set the expectation that every student will graduate with entry to university, further education or employment.
