Ross Andrews is a proud Djungan and Yalanji man of Far North Queensland, who grew up on the lands of the Gungganghi peoples of Yarrabah. He currently holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and is studying Graduate Certificate in Business Research Methods, and is the Executive Project Officer for the Yarrabah Leaders Forum.

A dedicated Indigenous leader with over 30 years’ experience, Ross champions self-determination in governance and empowers First Nations peoples. His commitment shines through local leadership as a former Mayor of Yarrabah and regional advocacy through FNQROC. He spearheaded the Yarrabah Leadership Forum, uniting the community leadership and management for self-directed governance.

Ross’s national impact is evident in his participation in the Indigenous Voice co-design process and his leadership representation on the Uluru Statement and Referendum discussions, advocating for Indigenous voices in the Constitution.

Beyond leadership, Ross possesses expertise in financial management and service coordination, driving positive social change. His dedication extends to his volunteer work, supporting Indigenous sporting and cultural organisations in the Yarrabah community.
