ABOUT THE ARTIST
“My name is Chloe and I am from the township of Normanton which is located in the lower Gulf of Carpentaria. It is 676 km west of Cairns and it takes us about seven hours to drive from Normanton to Cairns by road.

My Uncle Charlie Bynoe is my mothers brother and he is the eldest of the traditional owners of Normanton. There are 17 clans or family groups of the Kurtijar people.

I like to paint and do art work because it relaxes me and keeps me calm. I like to paint the animals we hunt on country around Normanton. I also like to draw the bush tucker my family collect when we go on country.”
